We think a bicycle should feel like a new pair of shoes.
We love bicycles and we want other people to love them too. We want people to embrace their cycles as an extension of themselves. We like to believe that a bicycle is the most useful item you can own.
A short history…
Ghent Cruisers was started in a buddies dining room in early 2006 with the restoration of a old Schwinn cruiser. Then in 2007, another dining room in Ghent, housed a second build of the first “bordie”. Finally in 2008, a third friend offered up his living room and allowed us to add a motor to the “bordie”. Ghent Crusiers was born. Since then, the idea has evolved into a fun, efficient, easy way to get around town. Our cycles speak for themselves and we are setting out to provide something simple for the folks around us.
The allure…
We believe equally in form and function. What it looks like matters and how it works is a necessity. In both regards Ghent Cruisers offers a reliable, safe, efficient and attractive alternative to a full size vehicle or motorcycle. These motorized hybrid bicycles, in standard form, fall within legal specs for most states and are available to anyone 16 years or older. With a hybrid drive system, the rider can choose between a self-propelled bicycle or utilize the motor for assistance achieving speeds up to 30mph. To top it all off, our motorized bicycles have a low impact on the environment, by both meeting emissions standards and their ability to attain up to 150 MPG.
